Our skin shows us a new side every day. It gives us a glimpse of how we feel on the inside and, above all, offers us protection from daily challenges. Many needs and many unanswered questions - which skincare is really right for me?
Skin care is a process - and we at JUNGLÜCK have taken this sentence to heart! That's why we have developed a range that can be the right skincare for everyone through targeted "mix & match"! Today I'd like to explain how it works and how you can create your perfect layering routine...

The JUNGLÜCK principle - individual skin care through layering
Not all skin care is the same. There are many products on the cosmetics market that, at least according to our standards, are best not used on the skin at all - even some that can be really harmful in the long term. What's more, it can be very confusing and complicated to find out exactly what kind of skincare your skin needs. Even if you know your skin type and your skin's needs, you are faced with a huge choice and still don't know exactly what to use, when, how and where.
Skin care is not easy with all the offers and confusing information. That's why we've made it our goal to make the whole topic as simple as possible, to educate you about your skin, ingredients and product applications - not with complex jargon and funny-sounding INCI names, but with understandable plain language. This article is intended to help you get to know the cornerstones of our skincare principle: layering & combining products.
The rule of thumb: from thin to thick.
What exactly does that mean? There are hydrophilic (water-loving) products. Examples of these are light creams, serums, gels and lotions. On the other hand, there are lipophilic (fat-loving) products. Logically, they have a fatty Basis. These include oils, ointments and creams with a very low water content. If you "mix" these two types of products on your skin at the same time, two phases will settle and this can lead to an unsightly crumbling effect. You'll find out how to avoid this in a moment.
The next fundamental point, which we unfortunately often lack in everyday life - is time. apply many wafer-thin layers, work in the skincare slowly and carefully and give it enough time to work in. This can cause a bit of a rush in the morning or dampen your motivation for a full face routine. With our practical tips, we'll show you how to save time and still take good care of your skin without too much effort.
Our principle: 5 steps of layering

The original layering method comes from Asia. It is used to apply several products with a targeted effect in order to achieve the most individually tailored skin care possible. We have thought about which needs we want to address with our products and how best to divide them into the individual steps. This is how we came up with our 5 steps: Cleanse, Tone, Treat, Moisturize and Protect. The beauty of this layering principle is that it is super individual and you don't have to adopt all 5 steps for your personal routine if you have less time. You can find out exactly what the individual steps involve and how you can use them to create your own skincare routine in the following sections.
1st layering step: Cleanse

A thorough but gentle cleanser that does not strip the skin of its lipids and moisture is the Basis any good skincare routine. In general, you should make sure that you do not use any products with drying alcohol or aggressive surfactants in this step. This is because they can dissolve your skin barrier, causing your skin to lose its valuable oils and stored moisture more quickly. It is then busy rebuilding this protective layer in order to continue to successfully ward off germs, bacteria and viruses.
Our cleansing products, such as Cleansing Milk, Cleansing Oil or Cleansing gel, do not contain any irritating substances, aggressive surfactants or drying alcohols. You can find the right product for your skin depending on your preferences. Either way: your skin remains moisturized, no matter which product you use.
Cleansing Oil: Ideal if you want to remove make-up or sun cream from your skin. Play it safe with the double cleansing method: simply wash the dirt from the day off your face twice with the Cleansing Oil or in the second "wash cycle" with the Cleansing Gel or Cleansing Gel Milk. Thanks to its composition of seven valuable oils, the Cleansing Oil is suitable for all skin types.
Cleansing Gel: The lightest and oil-free version of our cleansing products. Ideal for a gentle cleanser after make-up removal or for oily skin or combination skin in the morning.
Cleansing Milk: Super mild, but super thorough. You can gently leave-on the Cleansing Milk leave-on with a cotton cloth or simply with your hands and then rinse off with lukewarm water. It is particularly suitable for dry skin in need of care and is also great for removing make-up residue.
2nd layering step: Tone

In other words: toner! With the PHA, Calendula or Zinc toner , you can easily and simply provide your skin with Actives that suit its individual needs in this step. If you want to Tone it lightly and mainly refresh it, reach for the Aloe Vera Spray or Rosewater.
3rd layering step: Treat

This is where the hydrophilic products mentioned above come into play - to repeat: this is the water-loving, water-based skincare. In this category we have a really wide selection for every Skin concern. The beauty here: You can also combine several products in this step. For example, I like to use the BHA peeling and the Hyaluronic Concentrate or Vitamin C serum in the evening. And in the morning the Niacinamide serum and the Hyaluronic Concentrate. As you can see, the AM and PM steps can differ and product combinations offer a wide range of options. This is exactly what we mean when we talk about individual skincare that is tailored to the needs of your skin. If you're not quite sure which of the serums is right for you, I recommend our product finder.
You can also find our ampoules and face masks in this category. They may not be part of your layering routine every day, but they are just the thing for extended self-care sessions in the evening!
4th layering step: Moisturize

As you have already learned above, the hydrophilic products are followed by the lipophilic (i.e. fat-loving, oil-based) products. This step is therefore about creams and pure oils, but also eye care. Incidentally, it is best to apply these first to the particularly thin and sensitive eye area by gently patting them in or "rolling" them in with the Hyaluronic Acid Eye Gel . This is followed by the cream or oil for your Skincare. Here, too, we have various creams to choose from. Retinal for mature or blemish-prone skin, Hyaluronic cream Medium or Light as a moisturizer or Hyaluronic cream Rich for more intensive care. If you would like to know which facial oil is ideal for you, take a look at this magazine article to find out.
5th layering step: Protect

Admittedly: This step is really only for during the day. But it is all the more important. sun screen, sun screen, sun screen. We never tire of emphasizing that a sufficiently high SPF (usually 30+) is the best way to Protect the skin from UV damage and other sun-related effects for as long as possible. So: don't forget the sunscreen, please!
Individualize your skincare - with targeted products for your skin
Do I really need all this? Only you can give a suitable answer to this question. Because you know yourself and your skin best. The layering principle gives you good support for combining active ingredients in different steps. How you ultimately want to put together your skincare routine is entirely up to you.
