What is Azelaic acid?

Azelaine is an absolute trend ingredient in cosmetics! Especially for oily and blemish prone skin , azelaine is a real benefit in skincare.
The active ingredient is of plant origin and is known for its calming effect. This property makes azelaine particularly valuable in the care of spots, which are basically nothing more than small inflammations in the skin. However, sensitive skin prone to rosacea also benefits from this hero ingredient. Azelaine helps the skin to Protect us from external influences such as germs and bacteria by soothing the spots and protecting the skin from inflammation. skin-soothing and antioxidant effect contributes to the healing of impurities. This allows the skin's protective barrier to regenerate and makes it much more difficult for new germs and bacteria to settle in our skin.

What effect does the Azelain serum have?

When developing our Azelain serum, we opted for a combination of four active ingredients. In addition to the eponymous azelaine, the milky-white serum contains zinc PCA, blueberry extract and horsetail extract. The ingredients complement the effect of azelaine wonderfully to give your skin exactly what it needs.

Active ingredient Azelaic acid:

Active ingredient Zinc PCA:

• protects the skin from oxidative stress
• has a balancing and soothing effect on the skin

Active ingredient field horsetail extract:

• from controlled organic cultivation
• Particularly high silica content
• has a skin-renewing, pore refining and balancing effect

What does that mean in concrete terms?

The Azelain serum is suitable for direct use on blemishes. Similar to the Spot cream , it provides direct and targeted care for acute spots, blackheads, redness etc. Oily shine becomes history thanks to the mattifying effect. Mild but effective care for your skin!

Application: How to integrate Azelain serum into your skincare routine

According to the layering principle, you apply the Azelain serum in the third step: Treat. Basically, we always Moisturize from thin to thick. oils come at the end, or before the sunscreen in the morning.

As a reminder:
Step 1: Cleanse
Here, for example, you use the Cleansing Gel - ideal for oily or blemish prone skin
Step 2: Tone

Step 3: Treat
Now the Azelain serum comes into play! Serums and concentrates can work their magic here.
Step 4: Moisturize
Time for nourishing creams, such as our Hyaluron cream remedy. If you like, you can still moisturize here with a pure facial oil your skincare routine.
Step 5: Protect

If you are using the Azelain serum , shake it vigorously before opening. AM and PM , apply two to three drops to your fingertips and spread over your face. You should avoid the eye area, but massage the T-zone in particular, as blemishes and an oily sheen occur here, especially on oily skin. Leave on briefly and then continue with your routine.

You can also use the serum during pregnancy! If you develop hormonal blemishes during this time or your skin has become more sensitive, the serum can provide relief.
